Looking for a pub landlord

I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to find a pub landlord, in durham (gateshead) an american man name of Sturley Goff. No idea what the pub was called. But he died in gateshead in 2001 age of 86 and he moved to england in the seventies. Is there a way I can find where his pub was?

Have you googled.
Sturley Goff married 19th Dec 1936 Blytheville Mississippi to Leona Viola Pankey.

With a name like that there might be something in the newspaper about his death

Thank you for the responses but no luck yet, having trouble finding a newspapre as google seems to keep getting gateshead tyne and wear and not durhame lol

is anyone able to do a 2001 electoral role search for sturley goff, he moved over here in the seventies and died in 2001 ?

There is only one Gateshead.
Durham became Tyne and Wear abt. 1974
