Jo, do you mean you found the record via GR?

I have looked on Ancestry but can't find anything. Also on the CWG site, again nothing.

Before going any further and spending maybe unnecessary money, I'd be patient, wait and see if a member on here can find anything.

Same as Libby cant find any details on CWGC or Ancestry,
which is very strange, even looked at all those with a name variation but nothing found with that Army number you have given.

Thanks everyone...
I searched on here for deaths WW1 and it came up with a John W Nutt. I have my John Walton Nutt in 1901 he is in the Kentish Town Industrial School and is 13 - I could not find him in 1911 so I had suspected that maybe he could have died in WW1. This could be him but how do I check? I have just found a John W Hutt number 44091 Royal Engineers (the RE) on 'find my past' but i don't have credits for that. I have a volume and page number for the death but where do i find this? Jo
Hope this all makes sense.

Yes, thanks George - that's him... but then he disappears hence my thoughts about his death in WW1. Please see previous post and thanks again.

A John W Nutt married Charlotte H King in Islington 1914.

Thanks Joan - so GRO cert may not name parents etc to prove he's my relative? the volume and page no. don't come up on Ancestry but then I suppose if it was overseas those deaths are different.

How do I prove he is my relative is the main question?

Thanks Libby for the marriage info I will look into that.

thanks everyone - i'll keep searching

Thank you Annielaurie - so he's not mine... my search continues.

It's odd because John Walton Nutt was the youngest of 4, the eldest is my husband's grandfather and the family remember auntie Elsie and are sure they heard mention of auntie Mary but no one remembers anything about an uncle John?

Thanks to everyone who helped.
