Does anyone know how I can find out if an inquest was held on my great aunt. She died after a tooth extraction in a London hospital in around 1936
Thanks

Hi Leigh

I think it would be best to order the death cert as may well be indicated on there if coroner involved plus you have an exact date of death which will help when making further enquiries.
Then it might be an idea to contact the local coroner's office to see if they still have any records and have a look in archives for local newspapers of the time.
I know someone who recently obtained a coroner's report for 1956 so you might get lucky!

Good luck

I got mine from the local newspaper dated 1921. I emailed the central library and they looked and posted it to me and it cost me £3.50...bargain!
