I am searching for information on a friend who is more than likely deceased and I'm not sure where to start.

She was born in India abt 1922 Her father was a British Army Officer stationed in India at the time of her birth. Afraid I don't know his name. Her name is/was Vivian Dempster. I believe she moved to Canada from Scotland where she was working at about 1955 That is about all that I know.
Any ideas where to start ?

no idea if this helps, but just googled "Vivian Dempster" and came up with a possible obituary for her husband - could of course be a completely different Vivian Dempster but its not a common name ... I assume Thibodaux is in Canada, you could always try looking up some of the younger relations mentioned in white pages, or google them and you might find links to websites etc that mention them (I found my step-cousin in Canada by googling just a few weeks ago)

sorry, think I've sent you barking up the wrong tree, as just found this Vivian Dempster Ordoyne on rootsweb and was born in Canada

There's only one Vivian Dempster listed on Ancestry:

Seattle Passenger and Crew Lists, 1882-1957

Immigration & Emigration

Name: Vivian Dempster
Port of Arrival: Seattle, Washington

Afraid I only have a basic membership so can't see the full record- perhaps someone else could look to see if this is your friend. It might give you a little more information about her.
