War Memorials/Roll of Honour WW1

war memorials tended to be for the soliders who had no grave.

becouse he had a grave he,s remembererd.

my partners grt uncle is on a local memorial but he came home have you tried the local church becouse he is name is on there too...

Thanks, I was wondering about the local war memorial, but he doesn't seem to appear on it. Also on the local Roll of Honour his son is on it but not him, his son survived the war thank goodness otherwise I wouldn't exist today!

the CWGC site will tell you where his grave is on if no grave what memorial he is commemorated on . Ie there's lots at Ypres on the Menin Gates memorial.
He may or may not be commerated on a local War Memorial where he lived

Can anyone tell me if everyone who died in action during WW1 had their name on a war memorial. My gt grandfather died in 1916 and although I have found his grave on the CWGC site I cannot find his name on a War memorial.
