The fact that either party was under 21 would only be recorded if they owned up to the fact that they were under 21. Many people lied about their age if they didn't have parental consent for the marriage.

That is normal for entried before civil registration started in 1837. Sometimes you will get the marital status if either is a widow/er and occasionally you get the grooms occupation but not always.

Hi I wonder if anybody can give me an answer.
I have a marriage in 1789 and there are only the bride and grooms names also witnesses , no parent details . I wonder if this was the usual thing at that time , and would it always be recorded if either party was under twenty one .
