Hi,

Right Cheryl would be 22 now Elizabeth, so it would be ok to look for her as she is no longer a minor :O) mind you if I was up so late I would have got that wrong ;O)

I think Joan is not too good at the moment, and it is quite hard to find someone who is adopted unless they are actively looking for you, as the adoption has taken place in Scotland you may find this site useful.

It has a lot of useful info for you on there, I see Sharon has Cheryl in her tree, tell her to ask can she leave a letter with Cheryl's file telling her she would welcome contact.

Given that the adoption was after 1976 you may find the agency more willing to help so contact them also.

Dear Katrina

Messages like yours are very common on GR.

As the person involved would be classed as minor still, could you check with the adoption people. This is a very thorny subject on GR.

Isn't there a scheme where parents and relatives can pass on messages through an intermediary and then if the adopted person wants to, they can make contact.

I think this message should go to the day shift.

i am looking for my niece birth name cheryl philip born 22-7-1987 in the rottenrow glasgow, her birth mother is sharon philip.
i am hoping that she would like to contact my sister or myself ... unfortunatly i do not have cheryl adopted name or maybe her birth name has changed, please help.....
