Which area are you interested in-put a request on the Trying to Find board as someone may have records for that area

1. Go to the relevant County Records Office, search through the parish registers and many other interesting records.

2. Google your county in question, to find out if they have a Family History Society. Often the FHS has its own website, and in some cases they have transcribed parish records on-line.
It doesn't usually cost much to join a FHS, in my case it's £8 per year and I receive their quarterly magazine, booklists and all sorts of interesting information. Worth a thought. I'm only sorry I don't live near enough to be able to attend any of their talks and meetings.

If you have ancestors from Lancashire, their Online Parish Clerk project is excellent, and very user friendly.
