I would agree 100% with Dianne about the PAF program

From GR's FAQ.s page

"At the moment it is not possible to link up someone who appears twice in your tree, for example, brothers and sisters who married each other, or cousins who got married in your tree. You will have to enter that person twice."

Bottom line is that GR doesn't support multiple relations. Loading a gedcome works, but only after a fashion

Whilst a program such as FTM will allow you to record multiple relationships quite happily, uploading a gedcom created from it to GR won't solve the problem entirely, as I have found with my own tree. If I go in from the father's side it appears ok, but when I go down from the mother's side, duplicate nameless spouses appear.

If you enter the details manually onto GR then you need to add the names of one set of cousins twice. So you and others can see what has happened, cross reference them in the notes section.

I have used PAF for years, and find it a great programme for family history, and its FREE! Download from www.familysearch.org

Hi,

If you mean your tree on GR, it's very difficult to show these types of relationships. I suggest you buy a 'family treemaker package' I'm out of touch with how much it costs, as I bought mine a number of years ago, but it's not expensive, and well worth the cost, I would guess you can buy it for around £10, or less. Family Treemaker is easy to input the relationships you have, and you can upload a gedcom file from FTM to GR which will solve your problem.

I updated my FTM software to the 2006 edition, and find it easy to input details, I have read on the boards here that later editions aren't as user friendly. It isn't necessarily the case that the more up to date versions, which are more expensive, are better. Go for the cheaper version, you won't be disappointed.

I have 2 brothers on my tree already and they married 2 sisters (their cousins) on my tree already. I cannot work out how to put them as married without entering them as a new person again. They have lots of children each and I don't know where to put the children, under the father or under the mothers name as it looks like they are not married to their cousins.
Please help. There must be some way of marrying a person already on your tree?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
