Hi Kathleen

I've just got more info and it turns out she wasn't adopted till she was 10 and they know her birth name, so I should be able to find her! But thank you for replying :)

Best wishes

Carole

I don't know much about adoption, but I think his mother would have to contact Social Services in Newcastle (if that is where the adoption took place) in order to get access to her adoption records. I don't think your friend will be able to do this himself.

Carole & Sue from up north Report 18 May 2009 18:11

Hello
A friend of mine would like to trace his family history. His mum was born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and was adopted. he says that she reckons that the records aren't there. Is there any place/addresses that I could give him to help him start his search?

Thanks in advance

Carole
