How do you denote illigitimacy?

you should have
Father-partner1-partner2-child
Looking at the tree you may not be able to tell who the mother is until you click on the child or his mother.
If you have the wrong mother there is an edit button where you can select the correct parents.
EDIT
It should be obvious because the child will have it's mother's surname.

Add him as the spouse of the mother of the illegitimate child - and mke a note that they were not married.

The answer to this is probably quite obvious, but there is so much new information whizzing round my brain at the moment that I've got a mental block.

I want to enter the father of an illigitimate child on my tree. This person was married to somebody else, so how do I enter that information without his wife appearing as the mother of the illigitimate child?
