1990's Marriages

I am trying to trace marriage details of two nephews and a niece, all of whom married in the late 1980's or 1990's. None of them are found by the usual search. I have traced a few hundred other people on GR in the past so am not a complete novice, but I seem to be missing something here. Any suggestions?

Hiya Neil
In Ancestry there is the marriage index for years 1984 to 2005

Thanks Carol, I will try that, but does that mean that GR does not have access to Marriage records for those years? Now that I have thought a bit more about it, I realise that I have only ever looked up deaths in the 80's and 90's, never births or marriages until now.

Some local reg offices have later marriages.

Which area would they be in?

Thanks for offers and suggestions. In fact I can get the info I need from my two sisters, I was going to surprise them but have now decided that's not a good idea.

It has come as a bit of a surprise to find that GR doesn't seem to have full access to post 1984 BMD's, eapecially as I don't see any mention of this in the help files.

GR does not carry its own records ........... they just refer you to other sites, and they may not be getting access to the bmds after 1985 which are found on ancestry. It's probably financial!!!

Just to close this topic off from my point of view. I had a message yesterday from Somerset Girl in which she offered to look in Find My Past for me. Whilst I declined her offer, I thought I should try the site for myself at mt own expense.
What a revelation. I can recommend Find My Past to anyone researching BMD after 1984. At very reasonable cost for credits, I was able to trace my nephews and niece and their offspring in about 30 minutes.
Thank you Somerset Girl.
