Thank you everyone for your interest.

I do have the marriage certificate ( Bridgend Register Office, 25th May 1886 ) It says that Hannah was 21, a spinster, daughter of Edgar PARRY ( deceased ) a carpenter.

One of Alfred and Hannah's sons was named Edgar...born after 1901, and 1911 census not available yet.

I can't find a suitable Edgar, carpenter in earlier census.
I have contacted a PARRY one name study and can't determine which is the correct Hannah PARRY in early census, or which is the correct death for Hannah ( as DAVIES )

Rambling Rose
That could be a good possible birth registration, Thank you.

I am trying to track down someone who married into our family in Wales in 1886, but each census brings conflicting evidence, so I'm trying a new approach.

Will the fact that she is shown as Welsh-speaking, whereas husband and children are English-speaking, help to suggest where she came from?
I am looking for Hannah PARRY b. c 1865 who married Alfred DAVIES ( bapt. Madley, Herefordshire in December 1862)
In 1901 the family are in Bettws, Glamorgan, Wales and Hannah is shown b. Hirwaun, Glamorgan, but in 1891 she is supposedly b.Breconshire.

Family tales say that Hannah died in childbirth aged about 40,( I know of 2 more sons born after 1901 census) but as she was Hannah DAVIES in Wales, I'm rather spoilt for choice. Her husband and family definitely lived in the Garw Valley later, so I'm expecting that Hannah's death will have been in the Bridgend area.

Just realised that it's May again that I feel the urge to search for Hannah again.
It's strange how something draws me back to her about this time each year.
Any help with her birthplace or death registration would be great, please.
