Thank you both. Jim, I have looked at the image, but it still isn't clear - could be 20? The one I am looking at is a death for William White, Guildford, June 1856.

Christine - I'm sure this happened to me once, and I believe GRO helped by looking at the original. Email address I have is:

Give them all the info you have. If successful you can do the noble thing and send freebmd the correction!

You should look at the image and use the correct number.
We will help if you cannot read it.

Does anyone know how to go about ordering a GRO cert when the page no is uncertain? The one (I think!) I wanted is shown on FreeBMD with an asterisk for the page no. When looking at the info it gives a possible page range of 19-34, but there doesn't seem to be any way of inserting this on the order. It certainly won't take an asterisk!
