Know how to get a certificate from Portugal?

I am willing to go to the place where I believe my grandfather was born but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get his birth certificate.Does anyone know? |

So far all I know is that his name was Manoel Diogo Pires Goncalves |

Sadly not. He was born in Portugal and then left to go to SA. I think there was a rift in the family and he never went back or contacted his family again. |
