Simon

I found this particular contact on Ancestry.com and I've found some others descended from my Irish Grandfather's siblings on there too.

However, I've also found some contacts on here descended from my Irish Gran's siblings.

I'm sure people must have got fed up with me posing messages every where I can, on different Genealogy websites too...but it pays off in the end!

A lot of Irish did emigrate to the USA, Canada and Australia at some point and that's why Ancestry.com is a must for searching family trees, worldwide.

But it's good that a lot of people living abroad use this site too. Found my cousin on here who lives in Australia and I hadn't seen him since I was a child......I'm now a pensioner!

Well done Teresa..
Thats great. That is what this site is for, re uniting distant rellies. I was contacted a couple of years ago by a cousin of my mums, never met him before. we are now great drinking buddies, in fact we have been out tonight for a pint.

I wish I could work the same magic on my Irish rellies though !!

For five years I have been searching for my late cousin's 2 sons in the USA.

A few months ago I found her husband's death record on Ancestry. So every now and then I search the family trees on Ancestry looking for her or her husband's names.

2 days ago I found that somebody had them in their tree!

Sent her an email through Ancestry's contact system and she replied saying that my cousin's husband was her uncle.

I gave he my email address and yesterday I had an email from my late cousin's youngest son who is now in his 30's.

We are both thrilled to find one another as he knows of no living relatives of his Irish Mom.
