Hi Maisy,

I have a birth certificate where the child was not given a first name but I found his baptism which took place two days later in the parish records where he had been named. He died aged 4 days yet his death certificate shows him as male like his birth certificate it did not include the names he had been given.

Possibly the child died soon after birth and was never named. Have you looked for a death in the same quarter?

I think that if a child is registered without a name and is then named later the registrar is supposed to be informed and the register amended.

Unfortunately the births that I have found are for 1933. I was wondering if I purchased the birth cert if the names would be on them.

So what happens with these kinds of birth certificates without christian names. Does anybody know?

Maisy

Short answer is NO

Child was named after the registration date but would still have the names of parents on the cert

Good afternoon

I've found a couple of births on FreeBMD but they only give

Surname (male)

Is there anyway that I can find out what the christian names are?

Thanks
Maisy
