Holloway prison!

I found one of mine in there and he was a man! Apparently when it first opened it was a male prison. I used the National Archives site - entered his name (which luckily was fairly unusual) and found his court case and prison notes on there which I downloaded for a few quid. Interesting stuff - he was in for a white collar fraud and there are even notes from the Governor saying he didnt know how to treat Gentlemen - lol - he was told to keep my rellie and his partner in crime separate and not to give them hard labour :)

Anyway, have a go, the court case may come up if your lucky.

Have you tried to contact the local records office.
or a site people on here say using is old-bailey online they have old court records on there not sure of the exact address

My late grandmother was an inmate in Holloway in the 1930s, anyone know if I can obtain any prison records. Im not sure why she was there but I think it was bigamy.
