Hi Tinkerbell82

The Vine was next door to a pub called The Hare and Hounds. The Hare and Hounds being nearer to the junction of Rockingham Rd/Northall St and opposite to St Andrews Church.
At the top of Northall St there was an Off Licence that had a large illuminated sign for Sandeman's port!!

The two pubs were demolished in the early 1970s and became part of the Electricity Board HQ. In turn this went under the demolition hammer at the time of the Inner Ring Road development and is now the site of Sainsbury's Supermarket. Other pubs that also went down included the Spring Gardens, Robin Hood and i Think the Waggon and Horses. The Stag and Pheasant still remains opposite to the Iceland store

The people would could give some help are the Kettering Civic Society

Tinkerbell82,

I know the Vine was still open up to 1965 i have a photo. The Northall Street / Rockingham road corner was changed for the inner ring road development in 1966, not sure if the vine was also lost at this time.
and yes the Vine was in rockingham road kettering.

regards justin

Tinkerbell, if you google you may find something, but nowadays Rockingham Road is probably Corby rather than Kettering

Dear TInkerbell82

Hello,

I would suggest you contact your local archive and history centre.

They would probably have some photos and information about the pub.

Best wishes
x
