Thanks for your reply but Arthur's full name was Arthur Falkland Howard Head and his father was Charles, so this is not him I'm afraid. He is so elusive!

On August 13 1897 18 year old Arthur Head arrived from New York, into Liverpool, England on board the Lucania, (UK Incoming Passenger Lists 1878-1960. Ancestry). Arthur's full name was Arthur Falkland Howard Head. His father was Charles Arthur Head.

I know for a fact that Arthur was in England in November 1896 so he must have travelled to the US between these two dates, but I just can't find out when. He is not listed on the Ellis Island site as passing through there between these dates.
I have also looked on the Castle Garden US Immigration site.

Can anyone please help.
