I have just nudged Teresa's Information for all things Irish. It is on this board and will be near the top of the page. Contains all the searchy things you need to know about.

The second thing that might give you a start is to go to this site and complete the wizard questionnaire. Sometimes it works, sometimes it's useless. You seem to have the info it enjoys dealing with so good luck.

Sorry forgot. Highlight the address, right mouse click and copy. Go to address bar cursor in right mouse click and paste. Then hit enter.

Can anybody give me any tips on researching Irish records?

My husband's grandparents appear on the 1911 Census in Dublin. This states that his grandfather's birthplace is Co Mayo and his grandmother's birthplace is Co Kildare.

I have found his grandfather's birth details on familysearch.org, but not his grandmother's.

I know a lot of Irish records have been destroyed. Any ideas where to go from here?

Many thanks
