In 1901 he was living at 7 New Street Woolwich London and he was 9 his dob statedwas 1891

Just to let you now Me and my Children have had another look at the medal and they have informed me that the number is 9375 not what I said 0375 sorry about that (they say the eyes are the first to go) so it does look like those medical card's was my grandad and i might be able to find out a bit more info as i have the correct number

I think that is him as I found that number since I posted the thread on a medical card ShRat has also come across it on a medical card, Did you find it on the medical card or something else ?

The only thing that puts me off is Northumberland Fusiliers but saying that in 1911 census he is based at Bordon in Hamshire district Alton sub district Binsted. Im not that great in my georgraphy but I think they are all the same way :)_

what is a MIC please Im not sure if i looked at that one is that the one with those numbers and i did save that but what i looked at was on a pinkish card is that the one you are talking about

Have you looked in both the service and pensions records? If so then it looks as though his record is one of the many who were destroyed in WW2.

Hi ive just joined ancestry.co.uk and I just cant seem to work it out,
Is it me ?
I have my grandad's exact dob which is 10/08/1891 I have his name James Alexander King and I have his WW1 Medal with his rank and number on it which is 9375 PTE J.A. King R.W. Kent Regiment but i still cant find him

What am I doing wrong

any advice please
