Last time a connection was found to be incorrect I went through and copied/pasted and then had support delete a "love triangle" that were double linked so I couldn't delete. This is a whole branch that leads right down to my husband and that would mean all my stuff too!

BUT

Support were able to move the branch and all ther info with it so fixed!

GR's gedcom import does not support all the fields that a program such as FTM can. So, much depends on the information you have recorded and which fields it is in.

Notes should upload to GR ok but alternative facts, which I use extensively to record census occupations and addresses won't, for example.

Photographs are outside the scope of a gedcom file, and as you have said, can not be transferred by this means.

I like Jim's idea cost's nothing to try.

I suppose that a way to test it is:-
Open another account(free)and load your gedcom to there.
If you are happy with it then delete and load to your paid account.

I would be wary about assuming that all your additional info will be copied over.

I had a similar situation copying a tree from old clunky software to FTM, even though I exported everything and it worked importing back into my old software, not everything got carried forward into the new FTM program and I had to do some laborious typing / copying and pasting. E.g. none of my sources e.g. certs got copied over, nor photos.

Hi guys!
I was wondering if I download my genes ged to fix a branch and then upload the fixed tree would it upload all the information I have about census etc? I am resigned to the loss of photos but I couldn't stand to lose all the source info etc
