Births were supposed to be registered in 6 weeks but that sometimes didnt happen.
I recently received a cert for a child in the next qt to her birth, possibly because her mother had died 8 days after giving birth. The baby died too

Is a child's birth listed in a certain quarter of the UK BMD by the date the child was born or the date the birth was registered?
