Have seen an entry on Ancestry for Mary Stokes abt 1778 Sutton Kent, spouse Joseph.

Thought she may have died but decided to look on Freebmd just incase she re-married and lo and behold there is a marriage, just hope it matches.

Thank you very much

One of these may well be her death, as Eastry includes Sutton:

Deaths Dec 1862
Stokes Mary Eastry 2a 437
Deaths Mar 1863
STOKES Mary Ann Eastry 2a 499

Depends if you think she was Mary Ann or just plain Mary!

Hi Julie,
I do not think this is the right one I am wanting. Mary Everson re-married Sep qtr 1841. There are several males who could have been her husband so I just went on Ancestry to see is there was a match and Jospeh Stokes came out as the only one that did.
Mary Everson (nee Jones) was born Sutton at Hone, Kent. According to the 1841 census she was a Laundress living in Overy Street Dartford. All the Eversons resided in Dartford.

Maybe there was another Mary Everson? I will have to check.

Thank you so much for your time, Im very grateful

Hi Julie,

Looking back over my records I see that Mary had a daughter Mary Ann 1804 this is probably Mary's daughter. Mary probably did not re-marry after all!

Thank you so much

Rose, just a bit of advice! Folks on here are a bit short of the old grey matter, due to spending too much time on the computer and looking up census details ... a sort of mis-spent middle age for most of us!!! So you need to be really clear with details of who and what you are after.

Hi Julie,
I am getting confused now, must be past bed-time. The Mary Stokes that I asked you to look at cannot be Marys daughter if she was born 1806 what was I thinking!!!

I have looked again on Ancestry and see that Mary Everson is still listed on the 1851 census but I cannot see her 1861 so presume she died.
I am now wondering who this Mary Ann Everson is, born abt 1774 . Mary's brother in law John Everson married a Sarah. They also had a daughter Mary but she was born in Dec 1798.

As far as I have been able to find the Eversons resided in Dartford from 1797 when William and Mary married but of course they could have lived there longer. I have found that William Everson(Marys husband) was born in Hammersmith/Fulham. I do not know if brother John was born there too. I am hoping that the Family History Society of Middlesex & Fulham are able to help.

Thank you so much ladies for your effort and time, I am very grateful.

I hope I am making some sense now. Bath and bed I think, early wake up to collect baby granddaughter so her Mummy can go to work!
