I am looking for the witness to a marriage on the 1881 census but have had no luck so far.

He is John Becleshaw (that`s what it looks like on the marriage cert.)

The marriage took place at St. Catherines church, Wigan and the bride was living at 104 Manchester Road, Ince,

The bride was Jane Mawdsley and I have a feeling that the bride was living at the home of John Becleshaw at the time of her wedding.

I have to go out for an hour or so but would very much appreciate any help with this.

This rings a bell. Try looking for OCCLESHAW.
I have some Occleshaw witnesses on a marriage cert from Ince !
I will root out the cert .
