Thanks Julie, Jim and Glitter baby.
I also thought that it might be invalid, but why would someone put that down as an occupation?.
Thats the right person Jim .1841 Ravenstonedale westmorland.

My first thought was INVALID but the spelling does not match - unless the enumerator could not spell

So agree with Jim

Good morning everyone,
I have a print out of a page on the 1861 census, but i cannot make out the persons occupation. The person is Thomas Clarkson head of family with his wife and children.
Census is for Highgate, in Kendal, Westmorland.
On 1841 he is a shoemaker
On1851 he is a cordwainer.
On1861 it is none of them.(cant make it out).
I will have to check back later.
Thanks in advance to any one who takes the time and trouble to look for me
Regards Chris.
