Alex

I think the coverage on the CD is

Aston Tirrald 1602-1995
Aston Upthorpe 1861-1995

However you could try asking Margaret Rose on the Records Office thread for a look up-she has most of the Oxfordshire CDs

I will nudge her thread up

Linda,
My problem is that James is listed as James Edward on his marriage cert then named as Edward james on my Grandfather's birth cert then named as James Edgar on my grandfathers marriage cert in 1939 and he is also named James Edgar on his death cert in 1952. What I was hoping to prove by linking Florence to marrying a Hopkins is to affirm that I have the right Lewington on my Ggrandfathers marriage cert in 1917. I haven't found James or Florence on the 1911 census as yet ( that will be my next step).
I am also seeking any info on a Richard Lewington born c1710 in Aston Tirrold.
Cheers
Alex

You don't say exactly what you are wanting to find out.
what do you already have?
Have you got them on the 1901 and 1911 censuses. Do you haves the marriage cert for James etc?

I can't see a marriage for Florence to a Hopkins, when an where do you think she married etc.

if you are ore specific we may be able to help

Thanks Penny & Linda for your quick responses. I will have a look at the OFHS. Thanks for the Burial list to Linda I will see if i can match them to my tree. The person I am most interested in is my GGrandfather James Edgar Lewington born 1882 in Aston Upthorpe and his sister Florence May Lewington 1888. I believe Florence married someone called Hopkins but as yet I am unable to prove it. I believe she was a witness to James Edgars marriage in 1917'.
I will keep hunting I guess.
Cheers

Hi Alex ...

These two Berkshire parishes were incorporated into the county of Oxfordshire in 1974, and so are included in the OFHS's wide range of parish register transcripts.

Transcripts of the registers of both of these parishes are included on their CD-rom Ref. WAL-02 which can be purchased online for £17.00 from the OFHS (www.ofhs.org.uk).

I'm not sure what sort of years you're researching, but I had a quick look on the OFHS's Oxfordshire Marriage Index (1538-1837) but could not find any reference to the LEWINGDON/LEWINGTON surname in either of the parishes.

I am currently researching my paternal line and I am interested in any info pertaining to the surname Lewington in the Aston Tirrold and Aston Upthorpe areas of Berkshire.
