I don't think that'll work Liz. All you can put in a post is text, and the problem is Rebeka doesn't exactly know what the text is. There is a set of posted photos on the home page here, but the biggest one was just 37KB, which is way too small for a photo of text.

I think what Rebeka should do is get the 9 pages scanned, especially the crucial ones. I don't know what capabilities she has in this regard - I have none myself, but my sis-in-law can scan documents on her fax machine, turn them into .pdf files, and email the pdfs to me. Maybe there's somewhere Rebeka can get the same thing done - like at work, or at the library. The larger the image file, the better 400KB per page is probably quite satisfactory, but 800KB would be better.

Nine pages is a bit much to ask a volunteer to do, but a paragraph or two is not unreasonable. If Rebeka could get them scanned, then asking for help, and suggesting any volunteers pm her with their real email addy so she could send off the crucial images would seem a feasible way to progress.

Hi All,

Yesterday i received a 9 page document from the national archives for a divorce petition in 1881. I can understand the majority of the document and can work out this poor lady was requesting a divorce because of the domestic violence she was living with.
The divorce was dismissed by the courts but i cant read why, it is a very interesting piece and would love to know exactly what it says.
Does anyone know of where i can get this transcribed please.

Thank you,
