Ive found some information relating to the father of my illegitimate great grandfather, unfortunately the bastardy bond states only the name, address and occupation of the father, i have no date of birth, and cannot finfdthe person at any previous or subsequent census at the same address.
I am looking for a;
Robert Hulton
25 Blackbank street, Little Bolton/Bolton
Joiner

I have no DOB and no other information other than the amount of maintanance awarded was 3 shillings per week- and this was in 1889,
am i right in thinking this was a considerable sum per week in those days?
I think this man was from out of town as im not finding any hulton families in the bolton area with any young roberts living with them!
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Looks good to me Jim
1 pound in 1890 is worth nearly 60 pounds today so not that much

jim, you're right, it is Hutton, ( the bastardy bondy clearly says hulton but we know what thats worth!)
I found the same family on the 1891 census at the same address as on the bastardy bond, they moved from 22 on the 1881 census you found to number 25 on the same street within the next few years.
Thankyou very much, its really been annoying me!

Im a happy lady now x
