	Have you looked for the named father in 1901? Is that where you soon the groom with an adopted father? Gwyn

Member Since: March 2003 Posts: 7,819 Send Message	Don't forget that the absence of the word 'deceased' on a cert doesn't mean the person was still alive. It could mean either. Only if the word appears is it reasonable to assume the person has died.

Member Since: March 2008 Posts: 4 Send Message	Thanks for your reply, looked up adoptions but of course not much help before 1926. I just seemed to be baffled because he lived with adoptive parents but used his fathers name on his marriage certificate in 1910. It doesn't say (deceased) by his fathers name, so it just seemed a mystery. Thanks for reply.
