transfer to a laptop

Hello Malcolm,
Save it to a memory stick (USB Pen) and you can then transfer the saved Gedcom file across to your laptop by just plugging it in and using any of the software mentioned in the earlier replies.
Be careful when running your family tree on different computers as there's a tendency that as you update one the other falls behind.

Can anyone suggest a suitable software package which will allow a GEDCOM to be transferred onto a laptop in order to work off-line? Any other tips to simplify the transfer would be greatly appreciated.
