Now, this makes sense - that first Ralph I found died:

Ralph Brooks bur 28 Jun 1818 aged 5 at Peel Chapel

A Thomas Brookes of Farnworth was buried 5 Jan 1860 aged 82 (that puts his birth around 1778 - which might fit in with Thomas the father) and there's an Ellen Brooks of Farnworth (wife of Thomas) also buried there aged 69 on 23 May 1846 (so that makes her birth year about 1777).

Marriage below- it kinda fits in with first child born late 1798. Going of ages in 1841 both would have been around 18.

Actually there are a number of children born to Thomas and Ellen/Helen/Eleanor (I have a relative who interchanged between these three names and a few more so it may well be the same couple) who were christened at Peel Chapel:

Charles (1798), William (1801), Fanny (1803), Mary (1805), Thomas (1807), Ralph (1813), George (1815) Jenny (1818), Ellen (1820) and Ralph (1824).

So I don't know if it's one couple having ten children over 26 years (possible if they married young, I suppose) or if there are two couples having children that were christened in the same place.

May I point out on the 1841 census that , Ellen & Thomas are 60 and Ralph 15.

Even with the rounding up & down it is highly unlikely that Ralph is their son- okay a possibllty (Edit)
What other info do you have? How have you found out about Raplh's parentage?

Just had a look on the Lancashire Online Parish Clerk site - you might find it's worth a browse - and this came up (I've paraphrased what I've found):

Ralph Brooks chr 6 Jun 1824 at Peel Chapel, Little Hulton to Thomas Brooks (a labourer) and Ellen of Farnworth.

Thank you very much rose my mistake it is Thomas. I think I have been looking at this part of my tree for to long. Can you take this couple any further? I have seemed to come to a dead end.

Thanks Kay Hogan

Did you mean Thomas? There's one with father Thomas and mother Ellen in 1841.
