Brilliant! Thank you ladies. I hadn't realised they were so much cheaper, think my partner paid about £90+ all those years ago. Assumed an up to date version would be similar price.
Thanks again ladies
Caroline :)

Get a newer copy. I still prefer the 2006 V16 - its only about a tenner or so now on twr computing and you get a months ancestry thrown in. You can upgrade it to VISTA by downloading a patch - it normally prompts you to do this when you load it.

Found this by googling

Family Tree Maker Update for Windows Vista Users
This update is intended for people who are using Family Tree Maker 2005, 2006 or 16 on a Windows Vista computer.
If you are not using Windows Vista you do not need to download this update.

Please Note: There is no Windows Vista compatibility update for Family Tree Maker 11 and earlier. If you plan on using Family Tree Maker on a computer with Windows Vista we recommend that you purchase the latest version of Family Tree Maker

Hi All,
Just starting up again after a while. New laptop and wondering whether to hunt out (from I don't know where) my copy of FTM which I think is about 10yrs old. Anyone know if it'll work okay on Windows Vista? Do you know if the the newer versions offer more or would I just be wasting my money if the old version works with vista?
Any advice would be appreciated
