Rose - this is the 2nd post today where you've asked everyone to do a simple lookup for you.

I think it's abt time you put in a bit of effort in following other peoples responses, and trying to reproduce those results yourself.

If you get stuck, then ask for help, but do try first.

Also, the "My threads" link to the left of this board will list all the undeleted threads you've ever posted on (your own included).

but if you dont have census access then simple look ups cant be done.
FreeBMD and Family search are free to search but census look ups .other than the 1881.need subs sites.
i have no problem in helping with census info and transcribed Births and marriges that arent covered by FreeBMD

mgnv does have a valid point though - whilst we are all willing to help out this particular one was so easy.

Rather than come up with the answer, perhaps in some cases we should describe the process we have used and let the other member find the answer themselves?

I simply put the two surnames into FREE BMD and lo and behold just two possible results popped up, one in Monmouth one in Dudley. I didn't even have to put in christian names, dates or locations.

It was a bit of a no-brainer really.

Also, I don't think Rose was asking for Census results was she?

Hi Everyone,

I don't know why people are gettng shirty, but my computer has been down for a few days. I have had a virus on there and have only just been sorted. It might seem easy to all of you, but I havent done this before, I tried the FREEBMD site and could not find any results.

Don't worry I won't ask again if people can't appreiciate that some of us are learners!

I don't think people are getting shirty with you ........ I think they just want you to be able to search the FREE sites for yourself. There are lots of tips on how to do this on the boards.

When you've searched yourself and come across what you've been looking for it's such a thrill............ you may have been looking for hours then BINGO you find it!!!!! That feeling is fab!!!

Everyone on the boards is quite happy to help and give guidance if you're stuck. Just play about with the free sites to familarize yourself with them and you'll really enjoy your searching.

Remember we all started somewhere and often were given the same guidance that you have received.
