For anyone who also keeps a tree on Ancestry.co.uk.

Did you know if you log into the Ancestry.com site instead and access your family tree from there, a world map with a marker will appear against all place names in your tree.

It is possible to move the marker to an exact location which will be automatically stored with your tree. Locations can be shown against any relevant information, E.g. Birth, marriage, death, residence, occupation etc.

Although it is not possible to access the world map with the markers from the Ancestry.co.uk site at the moment, apparently it will be extended to all Ancestry sites once testing is over.

Any map markers saved to your tree from the .com site will be eventually accessible from the .co.uk site. This means that any work done on mapping markers placed on your family tree from the .com site will not be lost. They are already there in your tree but cannot at the moment be accessed from the .co.uk site
