proving the correct birth

If you say the birth certs didint help, take it you bought some of them? So what is the address of the birth and the mothers full name.

That's a shame, but do you have one of the birth certs? You can search ScotlandsPeople for free to see if there is a marriage with the correct pair of names.

they lived in darwen lancs where all their children were born, their birth certificates dont help

If you've got a child born in Scotland for this couple then everything you want and need will be on the child's birth certificate - and you can download it for £1 from ScotlandsPeople :-)

did they have children on any census you may find the marriage and then back to his birth

hi, i'm trying to find a birth of henry newton. according to 1891 census was born in scotland in 1855. he was living with mary 'his wife' but can't find a marriage, with such a common name how do i find the correct birth. any suggestions please.
