Jill - if the long URL still does not work try using just

familysearch.org

and follow the instructions from there

Jil, just double checked it, and this is definetly the link, also gives you the option to check the IGI Worldwide baptism and marriage records, all totally free.

Hi - I was wondering this too and was delighted to fiind this information but have tried the links suggested and they still come up as having to pay to buy credits to view records. Having paid for GR and for the 1911 census I don't really want to pay again. Is there something I am doing wrong? Jill

1881 is free on the Mormons' site -

Hi David.

The 1881 census is free. You can find it on Ancestry for free, just search under UK census and then pick 1881.

Why is there not an 1881 census?? it's difficult to keep track of people when they appear in 1871 but not in 1891 help please
