Hi Joy,

Thanks for your help, the year and name are right but the month is wrong, he was born January 1917. I tried the site but just kept getting the same message saying there were too many results to show no matter how much I refined it for William Robertson.

I will have another look today and see if I can get anything about William uisng the search.

Thanks again,

Vicky

In the Mormons' site, that was given to you, there is a William James Robertson, registered June qr 1917 - would that be he?

Thanks Teresa, I stumbled across that website about 10 minutes ago :) It looks good but there wasn't the option of free access to the records you could just searc hthem and credits seemed expensive (but then I am relatively new to genaeology so I might be wrong). :)

Hi Potty,

Thanks for your help, I've tried a few Google searches but I'm having problems finding my particular branch of the Robertson tree in Arklow. I also dont know if my grandad moved to the UK as an adult or if my great grandad moved the family here.

Thanks again for your help,

Vicky

This site has Irish bmd indexes from 1854-1958:

Hi,

Can anyone recommend some good resources (free or paid) for tracing Irish ancestors please? Are there any good websites?

My grandfather was born in Arklow, County Wicklow in 1917 and I'd like to find out more information about great grandparents etc and the Irish branch of my family tree.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Vicky
