Hi Candida

No, you don't need the death certificate, just the date and an idea of where buried (seems likely to be Leeds unless you know the family came from elsewhere). Unless he was a staunch religious man he is likely buried (or perhaps cremated) at the Municipal Cemetery. I have no idea how useful Leeds are, but the chap at the council offices who is in charge of our local cemetery can find me anything and everything. It might be useful if they can tell you who else is buried in the grave (if there is one). But even then, many people did not bother with a grave and had their ashes scattered.

As the years you need haven't been transcribed it will mean searching every qtr for every year from 1958 onwards.

I KNOW FRANK WINTERSGILL WAS BORN IN 1928 AND DIES IN HIS 30'S OF POLIO BUT I CANT FIND A RECORD OF HIS DEATH. THERE IS A FRANK WINTERSGILL THAT DIED IN 1985 BUT THIS IS HIS FATHER.
ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED
