I am looking at the date and place of death. Would someone please tell me which of these two records is likely to be correct.

These records also show that one of John Walker's sons John Walker was born on 2 Aug 1810 which leads me to the date of birth of 1836 as being the correct one. Why is here such a difference in the dates.

Both are from the IGI Family search site.

n In the too hard basket. That's where I've put it as well.

If you have a son born 1810 then the death of father cannot be 1808 so it must be the other one. They could be cousins.

What do you mean 'why is there such a difference in dates'? Because they are 2 different people?

Everything matches for both entries. Except for the date and place of death.

I am puzzled how they could both (if they are two separate people) have been born on the same date, with the same parents, married the same spouse on the same date, but died on different days and in different places.

I apologize, I originally read the second entry's christening date for the birth date. Must be going cross-eyed.

Could it be that they were submitted by a church member who made a mistake? Then corrected it with a second entry.

Are you able to contact Samuel Wattles?

Ozi.

Hi Ozi, I think that is going to be the best possible way to go. At least this one has a contact name. I agree with your first estimate that if the child was born after 1810 the later death date would be the most likely one. Thanks for your input.
