Yes, you gave me something to think about there. I will give my mother this information as I think a letter correctly worded from her enquiring after her own father's business is the way forward, and as you say, some details may not be forthcoming if the child is still living.

My mum's just thrown another spanner in the works with my research and set me off on yet another search!!!!!

She remembers hearing that her father Sidney Charles Martin born 1910 Woolwich (living in Kennington, London at the time about 1940's) attended Court over maintenance payments of another child. These details were kept from everyone in the family by my gran, her mother, who refused to acknowledge any truth of another child.

Obviously, my mum wants to find out more about this child and if he/she is definitely related.

How do I find out the local Court to Kennington that would have dealt with the case? Any advice?
