Hi,

I have two sets relatives who I know got married in Registry Offices, I can't find any trace of their marriages, am I right in saying that there should still be records for these marriages?

I think most marriages are registered in the quarter they took place (you sign the register on the day of the marriage). It is mainly births that can be registered in the following quarter as you have 6 weeks to register a birth.

Kath is correct. Marriages are always registered in the qtr in which they took place.

In practice, details of Register Office marriages are likely to be more precise as there is at least one less link in the recording chain.
