There is BMDshare, a site where members leave details of BMDs that are wrongly ordered or the owner is prepared to share their information.
Its a remote chance but its free.

In short, no. You have to purchase the certificate. (England Wales & Ireland)

hi does anyone know if there is a site where you can actually view a birth certificate online. it will be from 1883 many thanks
