I haven't personally, but if I were you, I would contact the hotels before going to ask about their histories.
And enjoy just being there "treading in his footsteps" :-)

Hi all,
i was sat here planning a trip to eastbourne with regards to doing some reasearch at the Grand and Queens hotels. My Great Grand Father was a hall porter there around 1900.
Then it struck me that i should at least ask if any one on Genes had done any research them selves about these two hotels befor i toddal off.

So, has any one done any research into the Grand Hotel and the Queens Hotel in Eastbourne.
Cant find any thing worth knowing on the net.
