Couldn't have been short for Boniface, could it? I think there was a Pope with that name.

I wonder if anyone would know, would It be possible for a male to have the Christian name Bonny?

Its just a latteral thought as I am researching a Male Sgt Bonny and wondered if the Bonny could have been his first name not his surname!.
I have contacted all in my research for the surname Bonny and still drawn a blank after three years.
Thank you
Mayfly
