I have looked for the birth record which Jim found on here:

1911???
JACOBS CAROLINE F 1903 8 Stepney London
HOUSEHOLD JACOBS CHARLES M 1907 4 Stepney London
HOUSEHOLD JACOBS ESTHER F 1907 4 Stepney London
HOUSEHOLD JACOBS GEORGE M 1909 2 Stepney London
HOUSEHOLD JACOBS JOHN M 1897 14 Stepney London
HOUSEHOLD JACOBS MARY ANN F 1899 12 Stepney London
HOUSEHOLD JACOBS MARYANN F 1873 38 Stepney London
HOUSEHOLD JACOBS THOMAS M 1871 40 Stepney London
HOUSEHOLD JACOBS LEONARD WILLIAMS M 1896 15 Stepney London

I cannot find a birth for Caroline/Caroline F Jacobs in Stepney in 1903 anywhere. Aged BIL is pretty sure she was born in October.

I have tried looking for other female births in Stepney making the assumption that she was registered under a different Christian name but have had no luck.

Can anyone please help again.

Thanks

Sue

Don't know Jim,

I am off to buy more credits for the 1911 to check family details. Can't get hold of aged BIL and it's so frustrating.

In 1911 recordings such as you show here, ..doesn't F mean Female.... and M mean Male?

If her birthday was October, she was 8 in 1910

Hello Gwyn,

The 1911 census that Jim Soton found shows that Caroline was 8 and born in Ratcliff (as were all the other children of the marriage).

I still can't find her birth record. I am quickly losing the will to live. I have tried free BMD and Ancestry.

Thanks

Details of the birth may not have made it to the GRO.

Registers now held by Tower Hamlets who are indexing them but the year you want isn't yet covered.

Might be worth contacting them to see if they will do a search.

Thanks Chris,

I just hope I am not missing something or being completely stupid!
