owner of a will ?

Also bear in mind that even if there is a will, but the estate is very small, it may not be worth the expense of having the will proved, therfore no official record will be held.

This is what happened with my wife's grandparents. The administrator, did however distribute what there was of the estate in accordance with their wishes.

You can only search wills by the name of the person who made the will, not by the beneficiaries.

If you're located in London you can search for yourself, pay £5.00 in approx 1 hour and you can walk away with a copy. If not they have a 'by post' service - see the above link.

Hi, as a child I remeber that my mother was left a small ammount of money but can't find out where from and would like to tie this into her history ,is there a list of wills for London I can look it up on ? cheers Karrie
