Some time soon Ancestry will have transcribed all deaths. We are all waiting very impatiently.

Thanks Jill that explains it, doesn't make it easy to search though, especially my husbands side where he has a common name. That's why I've gone back to my side - I thought it would be easier !!

Thanks guys - these people were my Dad's uncle/cousin - but he never mentioned them. His Dad was one of 5 children, but my Dad only ever mentioned 1 Aunt - Isabella and 1 uncle - George. The others were a bit of a surprise so i thought I would start with Phineous as it is an unusual name. One wonders why the others were never mentioned, especially as my Dad was born in 1926 and they were still around!

Search results on the deaths are based on just the surname really as the full names have not been transcribed - so it will only bring up the page where that surname would be listed. Until they are fully transcribed it won't be any better than that.

Now why doesn't that surprise me !!!
Still doen't solve the mystery about why there are exact name matches for the death but none for the correct name. It is quite an unusual name I am searching for - Phineas Rich
Born 1892 - Battersea

Do you want to post your relative's name, so others can help search.?

It is a fact that some do not appear on a census and some have been mistranscribed. The 1911 was transcribed abroad,I believe by non English speakers.

Yes I am - I have searched each quarterly record, but can't find a match.
I can find a relative on 1901 census but not 1911, so assume he dies in this period, but can't find the match. I know I'm not very experienced but this is baffling me.

Are you talking about Genes?
No site has transcribed the records 1936-1983 so they let you search the images.

Hi
I am very puzzled that when I do a search e.g. for a death in the 'search records' section that even when it comes up with an exact number of matches e.g. my last search came up with 44 over a 10 year period - I can't find even one name match. What am I missing ???? If anyone could explain I would be grateful.
I even tried the same name over a 1 year period and it said there were 4 matches, but again I couldn't find the death.
Thanks in advance
Lynn
