good morning all,
i was wondering if anyone has any advice for me when visiting dublin records office?
i am off to dublin for the weekend in about 3 weeks time and am a bit nervous i have not visited a records centre before having done my research to date on-line.
unfortunately i will not be able to spend as much time there as i would like and i dont want to waste a minute!!
any tips to make my visit worth while would be appreciated.
thank you

Hello Elaine,
Get there early and queue if you have to.
Pay the €20 for a full day search of the records.
I think there is a limit to the number of copies of certificates you can have in any one day.
The room is spacious but there appears to be only one copy of the various years of the BDM records and you could have quite a wait if others are using them.

Take plenty of change with you to pay for copies of any records you want.

The staff are extremely helpful and will advise you.
Go to their website and read up before you go.

Good luck
